WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed two of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus' (CHC) amendments as part of H.R. 4350, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The first amendment would require the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) conduct a study on the factors contributing to low numbers of Hispanic officers and enlisted members in leadership positions within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and recommendations to increase Hispanic representation.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) has endorsed H.R. 3992, or the Protect Older Job Applicants Act, introduced by Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (TX-29). The POJA Act would amend the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 to prohibit employers from discriminating against applicants on the basis of age during the hiring process.
