Family deported with ill American child need to return for care, lawyers say

Harlingen, Texas (Border Report) — A family that was deported from South Texas to Mexico earlier this year is struggling to receive medical care for their severely ill daughter and they desperately want to return.
Lawyers with the Texas Civil Rights Project (TCRP), who are representing the Hernandez family, on Thursday said the parents, Juan and Maria, have been waiting south of the border since February for permission from the Department of Homeland Security to return to the United States.
