CHC Opposes IRS-DHS Agreement, Leading Over 100 House Democrats in Court Filing to Defend Taxpayer Privacy
Washington, D.C. – The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) filed an amicus brief yesterday evening in the case Centro de Trabajadores Unidos v. Bessent, urging the D.C. District Court to block an unprecedented agreement that would grant immigration enforcement access to millions of taxpayers’ confidential IRS records.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Urges Treasury and IRS to Reject Use of Taxpayer Data for Immigration Enforcement
Washington, D.C. – Today, Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Acting IRS Commissioner Melanie Krause expressing strong opposition to any agreement that would allow the IRS to share taxpayer information with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for immigration enforcement purposes.
