Washington, D.C. —   Today, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) hosted a roundtable with Friends of Puerto Rico to discuss initiatives that are expanding opportunity in Puerto Rico.

 

CHC staff and interns joined Angelique Sina, President and Founder of Friends of Puerto Rico, in a Capitol Hill briefing highlighting opportunities to advance Puerto Rico’s economic development through entrepreneurship, education, and support for small businesses—creating pathways for women, youth, and communities across the Island.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Last week, Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Vice Chair of Policy Darren Soto hosted a roundtable focused on the implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) in Latino communities with representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. National Telecommunications and Information Administration, members of House Democratic leadership, CHC members, and community stakeholders from various parts of the country.

Norma Torres (CA-35), Chair of CHC’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Task Force and CHC Vice Chair of Communications, released the following statement on the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024.  


The Technology and Infrastructure Task Force leads the CHC's efforts in ensuring Latinos have access to technology and are engaged in new technological systems. The Task Force also focuses on infrastructure and transportation issues.
