WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) has endorsed H.R. 1581, the Build America's Libraries Act, introduced by Sens. Jack Reed (D-RI), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), and Ron Wyden (D-OR), as well as Reps. Andy Levin (MI-09) and Don Young (AK-AL). The bill authorizes a $5 billion fund to modernize American library infrastructure and ensure all Americans have access to high-tech, state-of-the-art library facilities.
WASHINGTON, D.C.— The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) has endorsed H.R. 560, the Northern Mariana Islands Legal Residence Relief Act of 2021, introduced by CHC Member Congressman Gregorio "Kilili" Camacho Sablan (MP). The bill would allow certain Commonwealth-only Transitional Workers (CWs) and foreign investors with five years of Marianas permanent residence the ability to apply for U.S. permanent residence. Additionally, it would ensure Mariana permanent residents and CWs have access to relief assistance following natural disasters.

Earlier this year, the Commission on the Naming of Items of the Department of Defense That Commemorate the Confederate States of America or Any Person Who Served Voluntarily with the Confederate States of America was formed to remove all names, symbols, displays, monuments, and paraphernalia that honor or commemorate the Confederate States of America or any person who served voluntarily with the Confederate States of America from all assets of the Department of Defense.
