Congressional Hispanic Caucus Commits to Keeping Administration Accountable, Fights to Maintain Key Immigrant Legal Aid Programs

Washington, D.C. – The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) released the following statement regarding the U.S. Justice Department’s (DOJ) decision to restore a host of critical legal access programs for adults and children moving through the immigration court system.

On Sunday, the DOJ walked back “stop work” orders it had issued to organizations running key legal aid programs after a coalition of nonprofit groups filed lawsuits on Friday.
