Washington, D.C. – The Leadership of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, and Ranking Member of the House Committee on Small Business Congresswoman Nydia M. Velázquez requested a meeting with U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Linda McMahon to discuss ways of working together to increase support for and create marketplace opportunities for minority-owned businesses.
"The Congressional Hispanic Caucus remains deeply concerned about the SBA's efforts to provide Hispanic-owned businesses with federal resources that are fundamental to improving the quality and scale of their business activities," the Members wrote.

Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01) joined CNN's Brianna Keilar to discuss the bipartisan discharge petition that would force a long-overdue vote on the House Floor to protect America's Dreamers and President Trump's recent comments on immigrants and immigration. Washington, D.C. – Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chair Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01), CHC Agriculture Task Force Chair Representative Jim Costa (CA-16) and 20 CHC Members sent a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan outlining their concerns with H.R. 2, the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018 and urging him to oppose its passage. If adopted this partisan proposal would harm millions of Latinos and their families by making sweeping cuts and changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) as well as other priority programs, and hurt our nation's agriculture interests.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chair Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01) released the following statement on President Trump's chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly's disparaging comments regarding immigrants and immigration during an interview with NPR:
"The Chief of Staff's bigoted comments about immigrants seeking refuge are a slap in the face to the generations of people who have come from foreign lands to contribute to the richness of our nation. I would like to remind General Kelly that the intolerant and ignorant ideas he espoused from the White House are exactly the same comments and attitudes that were prevalent against all of our families.

Washington, D.C. –Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chair Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01) and U.S. Representative Brendan Boyle (PA-13) led a letter signed by 11 Members of Congress to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Thomas D. Homan expressing serious concerns about reports that show the Philadelphia Field ICE Office arrests more immigrants lacking criminal convictions than any other ICE regional office.
"Mass arrests of immigrants with deep ties to our communities waste taxpayer resources and only serves to instill fear among families and communities," the Members wrote to Acting Director Homan.
