"People will die because of the Republican assault on health care," Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus Chair Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) said during a news conference on the looming government shutdown. Chair Meng and other Democratic caucus leaders placed blame at the feet of Republicans if government funding does run out. Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) began the news conference vowing to "continue the fight" adding, "this is their shutdown."

El gobierno de Trump reactivó a partir de junio la aplicación de una regla que exige que los conductores de transporte de carga demuestren dominio del idioma inglés para conducir en Estados Unidos. Más de 3,000 choferes de transporte de carga han perdido su autorización para conducir en el país luego de que entró en vigor la aplicación de una regla ya existente para obligarlos transportes a demostrar dominio del inglés, informó el Departamento de Transporte. Pero otras organizaciones han criticado duramente la medida.

President Trump’s proposed 2026 budget, which is currently under congressional review, could halt plans for the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Latino to expand on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The president’s budget would not provide funding for the long-awaited Latino museum, which was signed into law by Trump during his first term. News of the 2026 budget proposal came after he issued a March executive order titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History,” which alleges a “divisive, race-centered ideology” at the core of the Smithsonian Institution.
