Congressional Hispanic Caucus Urges Treasury and IRS to Reject Use of Taxpayer Data for Immigration Enforcement
Washington, D.C. – Today, Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Acting IRS Commissioner Melanie Krause expressing strong opposition to any agreement that would allow the IRS to share taxpayer information with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for immigration enforcement purposes.
