The Civil Rights, Housing, and Voting Rights Task Force works to protect the civil rights, housing and voting rights of the Latino community. The task force oversees issues such as the Voting Rights Act, hate crimes, and housing fairness.

Washington, D.C.-Congressman Darren Soto, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair of the Civil and Voting Rights Task Force, responded Friday to a federal court decision ruling against the addition of a second polling site aimed to better serve the majority Hispanic population of Dodge City, Kansas. Congressman Soto issued the following statement:
"Kris Kobach and Deborah Cox have already shown themselves as national leaders of voter suppression and discrimination by denying the people of Dodge City, Kansas, including numerous Hispanics, even one polling place.
Now the federal court has done the unthinkable: ruling that voting rights are being violated, but incredulously finding the court is powerless to stop it. If voting justice cannot be had in the federal courts for Dodge City, than justice no longer exists in Kansas.

"I am deeply disappointed in the Senate's vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanuagh to the Supreme Court. Judge Kavanaugh's nomination clearly demonstrated that he did not have the integrity, judicial temperament and impartiality for a seat on the nation's highest court.
"Instead of taking allegations of sexual misconduct seriously, Senate Republicans doubled down and forced his confirmation through the Senate. His confirmation is a serious setback for equity and justice and sends a loud message to sexual assault survivors that they will not be believed.

Serrano, sent a letter to James McHenry, the Director of the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) at the Department of Justice expressing concerns with a recent EOIR report on the Legal Orientation Program (LOP).
