Congressional Hispanic Caucus Introduces Over 100 Amendments to Confront Donald Trump's Big, Ugly Bill
Washington, D.C. – On Tuesday, members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) introduced more than 100 amendments to the House Republican budget betrayal -- Trump's Big, Ugly Bill -- a proposal that the CHC strongly opposes for its cruel, shortsighted, and dangerous impact on working families, immigrants, seniors, students, and vulnerable communities across the country.
Alligator Alcatraz has attracted criticism from lawmakers, human rights groups, and environmental advocates. In a post on X, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus wrote, “It’s hurricane season and all this administration can do is put more people in harm’s way. Alligator Alcatraz is a sick political stunt.” Environmental advocates worry the site could harm the fragile Everglades ecosystem.

Espaillat said that "if you uphold the peace of a democratic society, you should not be anonymous. DHS and ICE agents wearing masks and hiding identification echoes the tactics of secret police authoritarian regimes."
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus came out swinging against the majority ruling in the birthright citizenship case. “The Supreme Court’s decision to limit nationwide injunctions is a dangerous step backward,”the caucus said in a post on X. “It weakens the courts’ ability to protect our communities and directly attacks birthright citizenship.”

Tri-Caucus Statement on Trump Administration’s Decision to Rename Nine Army Installations
