Six Years Later: Honoring the Victims of El Paso and Confronting Hate
The CHC stands with the El Paso community and reaffirms its commitment to fight anti-Latino violence and the rhetoric that fuels it.
Washington, D.C. – The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) leadership released the following statement commemorating the El Paso Shooting Anniversary:
"Yesterday marked six years since 23 lives were taken in a horrific act of anti-Latino hate in El Paso. We continue to stand with the victims’ families and the entire El Paso community as they grieve and heal.
"This act of violence was not random. It was fueled by years of dangerous, dehumanizing rhetoric, including from those in positions of power. Words matter, and when leaders traffic in hate, it has deadly consequences.
"The Congressional Hispanic Caucus remains committed to honoring the victims by confronting bigotry, defending our communities, and advancing a future grounded in justice, dignity, and love."

El CHC se solidariza con la comunidad de El Paso y reafirma su compromiso de combatir la violencia anti-latina y la retórica que la impulsa.
Washington, D.C. – El liderazgo del Caucus Hispano del Congreso emitió la siguiente declaración en en conmemoración del aniversario del tiroteo en El Paso:
"Ayer se marco el sextimo aniversario del horrible ataque de odio en contra de la comunidad Latina en El Paso, en el cual 23 vidas fueron arrebatadas. El dia de hoy, mantenemos en mente a todas las familias de las víctimas y a toda la comunidad de El Paso mientras continúan su proceso de duelo y sanación.
"Vale la pena repetir que este acto de violencia no fue un hecho aislado. Fue impulaso por anos de años de una retórica peligrosa y deshumanizante, incluso por parte de quienes ocupan posiciones de poder. Las palabras importan, y cuando los líderes promueven el odio, las consecuencias pueden ser mortales.
"El Caucus Hispano del Congreso reafirma su compromiso de honrar a las víctimas enfrentando la intolerancia, defendiendo a nuestras comunidades y trabajando por un futuro basado en la justicia, la dignidad y el amor."
