Washington, D.C. – The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair (CHC) Michelle Lujan Grisham released the following statement after Republicans voted for the fifth time to pass a short-term spending bill:
"For the fifth time this Congress, President Trump and Congressional Republicans have decided to govern from crisis to crisis. I cannot enable this reckless conduct by voting for yet another continuing resolution. Continuing resolutions create uncertainty in our markets, hurt our national security, and inhibit the government's ability to work for the taxpayer.
"The American people are disserved by passing partisan, irresponsible legislation that the Senate has already rejected. Instead, we should be working across the aisle to resolve our nation's most difficult and pressing issues, including acting on several bipartisan, bicameral efforts to protect Dreamers and a long-term budget plan.
"It's time for Congressional Republican leaders to accomplish what the American people sent us here to do and find sensible and targeted bipartisan solutions that serve our nation's interest."
