Hispanic Democrats are pushing their party to be more aggressive in boosting Latino candidates to beat back President Donald Trump’s gains in 2024 — and set the party up for two big election triumphs.
Tuesday’s election results signal a possible return of Hispanic voter support to the Democratic Party, as blue candidates swept gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey — in part thanks to strong Hispanic turnout.

Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus on Friday sent a letter to the heads of Google, TelevisaUnivision and Telemundo urging all parties to reach distribution agreements to avoid risking a Spanish-language blackout on YouTube TV, according to a copy of the letter obtained by Axios.
Why it matters: YouTube TV is one of the largest pay-TV providers in the U.S., with more than 8 million customers.

Recently, leaders from the U.S. House received a letter which had been announced by chairs of four congressional groups (the New Democrat Coalition Housing Task Force, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, the Congressional Black Caucus, and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus) urging House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to preserve funding for several federal housing anti-discrimination programs while the FY 2026 appropriations process remains ongoing.
