Washington, D.C. – This afternoon, Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chair Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01) joined CHC Members for a press conference to highlight the threat Judge Kavanaugh would pose to Hispanic families and urge the Senate to defeat his nomination for the Supreme Court of the United States.

Below are the CHC Chair's remarks as prepared:

"Judge Brett Kavanaugh's nomination for the Supreme Court of the United States directly threatens equality and freedom not just for the Hispanic community, but for all Americans.

"His past decisions and opinions, denying women and immigrants basic services and rolling back workplace protections demonstrate he would lend strong support to President Trump's anti-immigrant agenda.

"It's clear that Judge Kavanaugh doesn't believe in promoting fairness for minority and immigrant families.
