HISPANIC CAUCUS LEADS IMMIGRATION EXECUTIVE ACTION ROLLOUT

Washington, DC- Today, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) held a press conference on the upcoming implementation rollout of the President's immigration executive actions. The DACA expansion program is one of the major initiatives announced by President Obama last November, and enrollment for the program begins next Wednesday, February 18th.

"The President's immigration executive actions will provide administrative relief to millions of people. The CHC played an important role in those executive actions and stands united with the President in the implementation of those programs. The Hispanic Caucus encourages eligible individuals to take advantage of the DACA expansion program and the DAPA program in May," said CHC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez.

Congresswoman Linda Sánchez will be leading a DACA information workshop together with CARECEN and the SEIU. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, February 17, at Rio Honda College, in Whittier, CA.

Congressman Xavier Becerra hosted an informational session on January 24th in the Pico –Union community of Los Angeles for residents of the 34th District to learn more about the recent executive actions on immigration. Participants learned about general eligibility and criteria for expanded DACA and DAPA and had the opportunity to have their questions answered through one-on-one counseling.

Congressman Ruben Gallego will be hosting an information forum at South Mountain High School in Phoenix Arizona on Tuesday February 17th to inform the community about the process and requirements for DACA and DAPA.

Congressman Tony Cárdenas will be hosting a joint event with Congressman Luis Gutierrez in the San Fernando Valley onSaturday, March 21 to prepare the community for DAPA and DACA opportunities and requirements, as well as provide information on how to avoid scammers. The event will also involve one-on-one screenings with potential beneficiaries to help orient them with the application process.
