DREAMers, Members of Congress Reject Efforts to Divide Community and Pit Parents Against Youth

Dear Colleague,

We would like to draw your attention to an invitation you should have received from United We Dream to attend an important press briefing to reject piecemeal immigration measures that would tear apart families families, leave out millions of immigrants, and create a permanent underclass.

On July 23, 2013, the day the House Judiciary Committee holds a hearing on DREAMers, United We Dream leaders, others in the immigrant justice movement, and Members of Congress will hold a press conference from 12-1pm in HVC-215 to express our frustration at House immigration proposals that would deny millions of hardworking aspiring immigrants the chance to earn their citizenship.

Following the lead of the inspiring DREAMer movement, we will continue to push for a real solution that creates a path to citizenship for all 11 million Americans without papers.

Panelists include:

Rosa Velazquez, United We Dream National Coordinating Committee and Executive Director, Arkansas Coalition for DREAM
Cristina Jimenez, Managing Director, United We Dream
Rep. Luis Guttierez (IL-4)
Rep. Lucille Roybal Allard (CA-40)
Rep. Joe Garcia (FL-26)

For more information please contact Kristian Ramos with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus at Kristian.Ramos@mail.house.gov or 60328.

Sincerely,

Joe Garcia
Member of Congress
