Washington, D.C. —Today, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) met with Department of Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo to discuss job creation and investments in communities, businesses, and workers across the U.S, especially within the Hispanic community. Following the meeting, CHC Chairman Dr. Raul Ruiz released the statement below:

"I would like to thank Department of Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo for meeting with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) today. The pandemic has only exacerbated the economic disparities that Hispanic communities have faced for far too long.

"The Department of Commerce will be instrumental in our economic recovery and in helping Hispanic businesses and entrepreneurs innovate and grow. The CHC stands ready to work alongside Secretary Raimondo to promote job creation, innovation, and equitable investments in communities across the country."

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), founded in December 1976, is organized as a Congressional Member organization, governed under the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives. The CHC is dedicated to voicing and advancing, through the legislative process, issues affecting Hispanics in the United States, Puerto Rico and U.S. Territories.
