Congressional Hispanic Caucus Endorses U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021

February 19, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) endorsed the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021. The endorsement comes a day after CHC Members Sen. Bob Menendez and Immigration Taskforce Chair Rep. Linda Sánchez introduced the bill and as the Caucus looks to prioritize immigration reform during the 117th Congress. Following the endorsement, CHC Chairman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) released the statement below:

"The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) is proud to endorse the U.S. Citizenship Act," said Chairman Ruiz. "The U.S. Citizenship Act will restore dignity and humanity to our immigration system, prioritize keeping families together, and provide 21st Century solutions for border security. Passing immigration reform legislation will allow taxpaying immigrants an earned pathway to citizenship and opportunities for them to fully contribute to our society, generate economic growth and productivity, and keep programs like Medicare and Social Security solvent. The CHC is committed to passing immigration reform."
