Washington, D.C. — Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chair Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) released the following statement on Monday in response to President Trump's deployment of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in airports:
“This is a dangerous escalation that politicizes our airports and undermines the rule of law. Threatening mass arrests based on nationality is discriminatory, unlawful, and puts civil liberties at risk," said CHC Chair Rep. Adriano Espaillat. "During a time when airline operations are under heightened scrutiny, our aviation system must remain focused on safety, not serve as a tool for fear or political theater.”

Presidente del CHC Espaillat rechaza amenazas del Presidente Trump, despliegue de ICE en aeropuertos
Washington, D.C. — El presidente del Caucus Hispano del Congreso (CHC) Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) emitió el siguiente comunicado este lunes en respuesta al despliegue ordenado por el Presidente Trump de agentes de Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) en varios aeropuertos:
“Esto es una escalada peligrosa que politiza nuestros aeropuertos y socava el estado de derecho. Amenazar arrestos masivos con base en nacionalidad es discriminatorio, ilícito, y pone a las libertades civiles bajo riesgo," dijo el Presidente del CHC Rep. Adriano Espaillat. "Mientras las operaciones de las aerolíneas están bajo escrutinio intensificado, nuestro sistema de aviación debe mantenerse enfocado en la seguridad, no debe funcionar como herramienta para el miedo o el teatro político."
