MEDIA ADVISORY: Congressional Hispanic Caucus Address Trump’s Attack on DACA Program and Need to Protect the Dream at the Supreme Court
WASHINGTON—–On Tuesday, November 12th, members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus will call for support of the DACA program and the nearly 800,000 Dreamers, and condemn the Trump Administration's attempt to terminate the DACA program.
This year marks the 7th Anniversary of the implementation of DACA, which President Obama created to ensure the rights and legal status of Dreamers and those eligible for status. While Trump ended DACA on September 5th, 2017, two court injunctions hold DACA in effect, and immigrant youth across the US can still apply for legal status. Members of Congress will continue to condemn the Trump Administration's attempt to rely on the courts to further their anti-immigrant agenda and circumvent Congress.
Speakers will be available for interviews immediately after the press conference.
