HISPANIC CAUCUS ON SENATOR REID’S RETIREMENT

Washington, DC- Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chairwoman Linda Sánchez released the following statement today following news that Senator Harry Reid will not seek another term in Congress.

"Senator Harry Reid has been one of the fiercest champions for the Latino community in the upper chamber. From championing the DREAM Act to comprehensive immigration reform and countless other Latino priorities, Senator Reid has always fought for America's working families. During his tenure, Senator Reid empowered the Latino community to be a strong voice in Nevada. Though the state will lose a much beloved Senator, we know that the Latino community will continue playing an important role. We thank the Senator and his family for 30 years of service in Congress and look forward to continuing to see the growing role Latinos in Nevada will play."
