Congressional Hispanic Caucus Statement in Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, on the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair Raul Ruiz, M.D. released the following statement:
"During Hispanic Heritage Month, we come together as a nation to honor the history and contributions of Hispanics in the U.S. who come from diverse backgrounds and are woven into the beautiful fabric of our American identity and history," said Chair Dr Ruiz. "It is a time to recognize our Hispanic roots that run back to our Indigenous ancestry and celebrate the struggles, successes, dedication, and contributions that characterize Hispanic communities and enrich our nation. Not only do we celebrate how we have benefitted from Hispanic entrepreneurs, servicemembers, scientists, educators, and more, but also recognize the future contributions Hispanic youth will bring to our nation.
"This month, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus reaffirms our commitment to creating lasting change to ensure the promise of America is accessible to the 62 million Hispanics living across our country."
Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15th - October 15th.
