Congressional Hispanic Caucus Endorses and Unanimously Supports House Passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2021
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) endorsed the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2021 (H.R. 4). Later this evening, the bill passed the House of Representatives with unanimous support from House CHC Members. Following endorsement and passage of the bill, CHC Chair Raul Ruiz, M.D. released the subsequent statement:
"The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) is proud to endorse the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2021 (H.R. 4) and applauds today's House passage of the bill," said Chair Dr. Ruiz. "We have a duty to ensure every eligible voter has access to the ballot box. The CHC is honored to stand with our colleagues Congresswoman Terri Sewell and House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler to prevent voter suppression, safeguard the integrity of our democratic process, and ensure every American has a voice in our democracy, regardless of their zip code."
