CHC ON SYLVIA MATHEWS BURWELL CONFIRMATION
Washington, DC- Today, Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) Chairman Rubén Hinojosa and CHC Healthcare Task Force Chair Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-40) released the following statements on the confirmation of Sylvia Mathews Burwell to serve as the next Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
"I applaud the Senate's confirmation of Sylvia Mathews Burwell, a most qualified and capable leader who I am confident will effectively oversee the Department of Health and Human Services. Ms. Burwell assumes a most critically important post which includes oversight of the Affordable Care Act and its continued implementation. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus looks forward to working with Sylvia Mathews Burwell in her new role, especially on health issues that affect the Latino community," said CHC Chairman Rubén Hinojosa.
“The Senate has made the right choice in confirming Sylvia Mathews Burwell as our new Secretary of Health and Human Services.
