August 25, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C.— The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) has endorsed H.R. 163, the Protect Patriot Spouses Act, introduced by CHC Member Rep. Darren Soto (FL-09). The bill would allow eligible service members and veteran spouses facing deportation to apply for immigrant visas. Following the endorsement, CHC Chair Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) released the subsequent statement:

"The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) is proud to endorse the Protect Patriot Spouses Act, introduced by CHC Whip Darren Soto," said Chair Dr. Ruiz. "Military spouses play a significant role in the life and morale of service members and should not have to live in fear of deportation. I thank Congressman Soto for his leadership in advocating for the stability of military families and for keeping families together."
