CHC CHAIR GONZALEZ STATEMENT ON GOODWIN LIU’S NOMINATION TO THE US COURT OF APPEALS

San Antonio, TX - Congressman Charles A. Gonzalez, Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, issued the following statement today calling on the Senate to confirm Professor Goodwin Liu, President Obama’s nominee for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit:

“The CHC is proud to support Professor Goodwin Liu’s nomination as a federal judge to the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Professor Liu would bring an incredible wealth of experience and knowledge to the bench as well as fill a critical seat that has been vacated for too long. It is difficult to understand why the confirmation of such an undoubtedly qualified nominee to fill a federal judgeship would take over a year. We urge the Senate to act in a timely manner on this nomination as well as all of the President’s remaining nominees."
