CHC CHAIR GONZALEZ CONGRATULATES JIMMIE V. REYNA ON BECOMING FIRST HISPANIC APPOINTED AS UNITED STATES CIRCUIT JUDGE FOR THE FEDERAL CIRCUIT
April 4, 2011
(Washington, DC) Today, the Senate confirmed Jimmie V. Reyna as United States Circuit Judge for the Federal Circuit. Congressman Charles A. Gonzalez, Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, issued the following statement:
“The CHC wishes to congratulate Jimmie V. Reyna on becoming the first Hispanic to become a United States Circuit Judge for the Federal Circuit. Judge Reyna brings extraordinary professional experience to the bench. As an internal trade attorney in Washington DC, he became an expert on laws, regulations and governmental measures involved in cross-border movement of goods and services. He also brings considerable experience with business regulation matters including export controls, customs, trade in services, rules of origin, customs audits/compliance, produce standards and homeland and border security. Because of his extraordinary experience, the CHC endorsed Judge Reyna in December of 2009 and we are very pleased that today, the Senate succeeded in confirming him. Judge Jimmie V. Reyna is not only an excellent addition to the Federal Circuit Court, he is also a great source of pride for the Hispanic community.”
