Washington, D.C. — Statement from Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair Adriano Espaillat on the Smithsonian Institution's Board of Regents vote to house the National Museum of the American Latino in the Arts and Industries Building:
“Today the Smithsonian Board of Regents chose to house the National Museum of the American Latino in a prominent location on the National Mall. The Arts and Industries Building -- a true jewel -- will shine like never before as the new, permanent home for this great American project," said CHC Chair Espaillat. "It has been a personal privilege to be part of turning this idea into a reality. This is a great victory for the Latino community, which until now has lacked a ship to take our story to port. I am grateful to the Smithsonian Board of Regents for their wise leadership in this adventure."

Washington, D.C. — Declaración del presidente del Caucus Hispano del Congreso, Adriano Espaillat, sobre el voto de la Junta de Regentes de la Institución Smithsonian para albergar el Museo Nacional del Latino Americano en el Edificio de Artes e Industrias:
"Hoy la Junta de Regentes del Smithsonian eligió albergar el Museo Nacional del Latino Americano en un lugar prominente en el National Mall. El Edificio de Artes e Industrias — una verdadera joya — brillará como nunca antes como el nuevo hogar permanente de este gran proyecto americano", dijo el Presidente del CHC, Espaillat. "Ha sido un privilegio personal ser parte de convertir esta idea en realidad. Esta es una gran victoria para la comunidad latina, que hasta ahora ha carecido de un barco que lleve nuestra historia a puerto. Estoy agradecido con la Junta de Regentes del Smithsonian, el liderazgo del museo latino, nuestro representante designado el Rep. Joaquín Castro y nuestro defensor el Sen.
