CHC Denounces Reported Threats of Unconstitutional ICE Actions, Vows to Defend Immigrant Rights and Dignity
Washington, D.C. – The Congressional Hispanic Caucus leadership issued the following statement in response to reports of imminent unconstitutional ICE mass raids:
"The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) stands in solidarity with immigrant families no matter where they live or where they come from. We strongly oppose any actions that infringe on their constitutional rights. Everyone has the right to be free from unlawful searches and seizures, and it is unconstitutional for ICE to conduct preplanned mass detentions, interrogations, and arrests that violate a person’s Fourth Amendment protections.
"We recognize the profound anxiety, fear and apprehension these actions bring to our communities. The CHC is committed to serving as a resource and advocate for all families impacted by the unconstitutional actions of the incoming administration, and we will continue to fight for the rights, safety and the dignity of all communities."

CHC Denuncia Amenazas de Acciones inconstitucionales del ICE y se Compromete a Defender los Derechos y la Dignidad de los Inmigrantes
Washington, D.C. – El liderazgo del Caucus Hispano del Congreso emitió la siguiente declaración en respuesta a los informes de inminentes redadas masivas inconstitucionales del ICE:
“El Caucus Hispano del Congreso (CHC) se solidariza con las familias inmigrantes sin importar dónde vivan o de dónde vengan. Nos oponemos firmemente a cualquier acción que infrinja sus derechos constitucionales. Todos tienen derecho a estar libres de registros e incautaciones ilegales, y es inconstitucional que el ICE lleve a cabo detenciones masivas, interrogatorios y arrestos planificados de antemano que violen las protecciones de la Cuarta Enmienda de una persona.
"Reconocemos la profunda ansiedad, miedo y aprensión que estas acciones traen a nuestras comunidades. El CHC se compromete a servir como recurso y defensor de todas las familias afectadas por las acciones inconstitucionales de la administración entrante, y continuaremos luchando por los derechos, la seguridad y la dignidad de todas las comunidades”.
